March 15, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario for a free webinar featuring perspectives how greater accessibility and inclusion in sport can positively affect the health and well-being of marginalized populations around the world. Ontario is pursuing a goal of an accessible province by 2025, leading the world in policies and programs that remove barriers for people with disabilities. Toronto’s Pan/Para Pan Am Games showcased the positive impacts of accessibility and inclusion in sport. Leaders in the field of inclusive sport will discuss Ontario’s approach to the 2015 games and their impact moving forward.

Alfred Spencer, Director, Accessibility Directorate of Ontario, responsible for educating Ontarians about the advantages of inclusion, and developing a network of strategic partnerships that helps Ontario organizations become accessible by 2025.

Karen O’Neill, Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Paralympic Committee, former CEO with the Rick Hansen Foundation, and the 1996 Canadian Paralympic team’s Chef de Mission.

Vicki Keith, Canadian marathon swimmer, holder 16 world records for crossing many of the world’s most challenging bodies of water, and a dedicated advocate for programs and projects to help children with physical disabilities.

He qualified for the Toronto 2015 Parapan Games with an exceptional performance at the Speedo Can Am Para-swimming Championships. One of Canada’s busiest athletes at the 2011 Guadalajara games, he placed 3rd in the 50m freestyle and 2nd in the 100m backstroke.

Scott Mitchell is the Director of Knowledge Transfer at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario, and spearheaded the development of EnAbling Minds, a new online tool that provides mental health accessibility training for anyone who works in the field of sports, fitness or recreation — especially those with a customer service role.
