There was a lot of “buzz” about the legalization of cannabis leading up to October 17th, 2018. But while there was a lot of talk about availability, there was little to no discussion about accessibility. This is something Biome Grow Inc. wanted to address. Biome is steered by leaders in the cannabis space–in finance, growing technologies, regulatory affairs, business building and marketing. And this position of industry leadership also extends to accessibility through inclusive design, making sure all of their retail stores, production facilities and online platforms are accessible to everyone. For this new Inclusive Design Challenge, we are looking for a diverse group of creative minds to work on these questions:
- How can stores be inclusively designed to create the best retail experience for ALL customers and also to comply with the unique requirements for product display in physical retail locations, which vary from province to province?
- How do we build inclusive production facilities and operations (e.g. greenhouse, buildings ventilation, manual versus automatic procedures, IT systems, and others) to ensure equal opportunity for everyone?
- How can we design our online educational and retail platforms to maximize accessibility and quality of the experience for ALL customers?
