Accessibility Mapathon #3 on IDPD

December 3 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

It seems unimaginable to an able-bodied person that something so simple–like a step–could exclude someone from their favourite restaurant or bar, but that’s what happens daily to those who have a mobility impairment. And even if they find a way around the stairs, how do they know that the bathroom will be big enough to accommodate a wheelchair? These are the issues that people with mobility disabilities face each day, and there seems little that can be done to help.

But, what if all the accessible places were put on one map? A Mapathon does just that. Participating in a Mapathon you can contribute to making the world equally accessible for all. We add the information to accessibility.cloud it is shared with all accessibility apps, the power to ignite a movement around accessibility is (literally) in your hands.”

At the Inclusive Design Research Centre, we have mapped more than 5000 business in Toronto since 2015.

Now with BIG IDeA and Our Doors Are Open we continue doing Mapathons.

Join us on Monday, December 3 for the International Day for Persons with Disabilities to help out with an Accessibility Mapathon around our communities.
