Lake Raiders rally past Bulldogs in third period

In the first meeting between the Bulldogs and the Lake Raiders, both squads were looking to bring their A game.

First period action saw the Bulldogs open the scoring on an unassisted Franco Paonessa marker at 6:30, to which the lake Raiders responded with a Jeremy Schofield (unassisted) power play goal at 9:00. Exactly 20 seconds later the Bulldogs Jerry Mariano (unassisted) gathered a loose ball and made good for the 2-1 advantage. In a game that was turning into a chess match the Lake Raiders would once again even the score at 10:37 off a Jeremy Schofield solo effort, taking a 2-2 tie into the second.

In the second period the excellent tight play continued and despite the Lake Raiders serving 2 minor penalties, their defence was sharp keeping things at 2s, setting the stage for a exciting final frame.

Period number three would see the Bulldogs break the 23 minute stalemate with a unassisted Franco Paonessa goal at 3:37 for the 3-2 lead. a 6:45 Dangerous driving call put the Lake Raiders on the PP and exactly 1 minute later they capitalized when Jeremy Schofield (Erin Vasilakos) tied things once again, with a hat trick goal at 7:45. From that point on it was all Lake Raiders with two quick Jeremy Schofield (Erin Vasilakos) unanswered goals for the 5-3 victory.
