Saturday October 31st 2015 12:30 pm – 1:30pm. In this Halloween match up (and their first of the young season) between the Lake Raiders and the Saints, it was the Lake Raiders who looked to avenge their first round elimination from last years playoffs at the hands of the Saints.

Action started early as the Saints Brandy Edwards (in Kitty ears, assisted by Jennifer Raycraft) scored shortside on goalie Neil Mercer at 2:50. Then just over 10 minutes later, the Lake Raiders tied things up on a Jeremy Schofield solo effort at 13:00, ending the first in a 1-1 draw.

In the second both sides came out looking to grab the lead and at 6:11 the lake Raider’s Jeremy Schofield (Erin Vasilakos) would snipe the top corner, breaking the tie only to add another a minute later for a commanding 3-1 Lake Raiders lead going into the third.

The final frame saw the Saint’s Brandy Edwards (Jennifer Raycraft) close the gap with a even strength marker at 3:02. Both teams would come very close hitting the post behind either goaltender, but it was the Lake Raiders who would add to their lead off a Erin Vasilakos (unassisted) line drive at 13:37. and finally with time running down, The Lake Raider’s Elyas Abdullah (Jeremy Schofield) would add insult to injury burying a one timer at 14:53 for the 5-3 Lake Raiders victory.

The Lake Raiders take on the Wolves and the Saints go against the Kings this week at Sunnyview Public School. Come watch the TPWHL next Saturday from 12:30 to 3:30 PM.
